David prayed to my Lord sayingA
Teach my hands to fightB
And many a battle did he conquerC
-
And now I pray to you Lord cryingA
Teach my hands to writeB
For the pen is mightier than the swordD
-
For many past and raging warsE
Would have been conquered without swordsF
Had the weapons of words been employedG
-
For they overcome him notH
By the blood of the Lamb onlyI
But by the Words of their testimonyI
-
And there was a little cityI
With a poor man who by his WordsJ
Of wisdom delivered the city from warK
-
So give me the sword of the spiritL
Which is your mighty Word oh GodM
That I may conquer with your WordN
-
For David prayed to you lord sayingA
Teach my hands to fightB
And many a battle he did conquerC
-
And now I pray to you my Lord cryingA
Teach my feeble hands to write that IO
May conquer kingdoms in black and whiteB
