It's turned January the fifth, and Shell's birthdays just arrived,
And we're heading off to Glenrowan, a place Ned Kelly couldn't survive,
But our first point of call, is Australia's largest Gold dredge,
In a town called Eldorado, just out on Wangaratta's edge,

I'll fill you in quickly, and tell you how the story goes,
Back in 1854 gold was found, where the Reids Creek flows,
Now move on 2 years later, and a town 7000 strong,
The creek was exhausted, so most all prospectors moved along,

It's also known to be the home, of Victoria's smallest pub,
The McEvoy tavern, but I'm guessing it's the towns biggest hub,
So I'll fast forward the drive, and we're now in Glenrowan,
A town full of history, and hundreds of tourists were flowing,

The most famous of all, is of course Kelly's last stand,
This whole town is based, on the death of one man,
As impressive as it is, I still beckon to wonder,
How in the middle of nowhere, happened this historical blunder,

Ned's legacy lives on, in almost a cult figure way,
A thieving Irish thug, who in the end had to pay,
Glenrowan seems only now, a huge money spin,
If only the coppers back then, didn't burn down the inn,

Overall I would say, it was a top day all round,
Another tick off the list, and more adventures to be found.
