The 5th Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DDEE FFGH IGJJ KKGG LL

It's turned January the fifth and Shell's birthdays just arrivedA
And we're heading off to Glenrowan a place Ned Kelly couldn't surviveB
But our first point of call is Australia's largest Gold dredgeC
In a town called Eldorado just out on Wangaratta's edgeC
-
I'll fill you in quickly and tell you how the story goesD
Back in gold was found where the Reids Creek flowsD
Now move on years later and a town strongE
The creek was exhausted so most all prospectors moved alongE
-
It's also known to be the home of Victoria's smallest pubF
The McEvoy tavern but I'm guessing it's the towns biggest hubF
So I'll fast forward the drive and we're now in GlenrowanG
A town full of history and hundreds of tourists were flowingH
-
The most famous of all is of course Kelly's last standI
This whole town is based on the death of one manG
As impressive as it is I still beckon to wonderJ
How in the middle of nowhere happened this historical blunderJ
-
Ned's legacy lives on in almost a cult figure wayK
A thieving Irish thug who in the end had to payK
Glenrowan seems only now a huge money spinG
If only the coppers back then didn't burn down the innG
-
Overall I would say it was a top day all roundL
Another tick off the list and more adventures to be foundL
