The 5th Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DDEE FFGH IGJJ KKGG LLIt's turned January the fifth and Shell's birthdays just arrived | A |
And we're heading off to Glenrowan a place Ned Kelly couldn't survive | B |
But our first point of call is Australia's largest Gold dredge | C |
In a town called Eldorado just out on Wangaratta's edge | C |
- | |
I'll fill you in quickly and tell you how the story goes | D |
Back in gold was found where the Reids Creek flows | D |
Now move on years later and a town strong | E |
The creek was exhausted so most all prospectors moved along | E |
- | |
It's also known to be the home of Victoria's smallest pub | F |
The McEvoy tavern but I'm guessing it's the towns biggest hub | F |
So I'll fast forward the drive and we're now in Glenrowan | G |
A town full of history and hundreds of tourists were flowing | H |
- | |
The most famous of all is of course Kelly's last stand | I |
This whole town is based on the death of one man | G |
As impressive as it is I still beckon to wonder | J |
How in the middle of nowhere happened this historical blunder | J |
- | |
Ned's legacy lives on in almost a cult figure way | K |
A thieving Irish thug who in the end had to pay | K |
Glenrowan seems only now a huge money spin | G |
If only the coppers back then didn't burn down the inn | G |
- | |
Overall I would say it was a top day all round | L |
Another tick off the list and more adventures to be found | L |
