A butterfly's flight,
Lost in the foreshore of the night;
With tears in her eyes,
She hung from the trees and cried.
Her gaze met mine,
And in that moment, we intertwined;
With the moonlight as our guide,
She sang and spread her wings wide.
She fell from the trees,
Onto the water, as gentle as a breeze;
It seemed she had lived for eons,
As her wings glimmered like precious stones.
I touched them with grace,
And in that touch, I found my place;
For in the foreshore of the night,
Her peace and melody took flight.
As the night draws to a close,
And the shelter of dreams fades and goes;
The touch of her wings,
And the tranquility in her sings.
Forever in my soul,
Without fail, her beauty unfolds.

Poet's note: The poem paints a vivid picture of a butterfly's flight in the night, and the encounter of the speaker with this delicate creature. The butterfly is described as being lost in the foreshore of the night, with tears in her eyes as she hangs from the trees and cries.
The speaker's gaze meets the butterfly's, and in that moment, they feel intertwined with the moonlight as their guide. The butterfly sings and spreads her wings wide, capturing the speaker's attention with her grace and beauty.
The butterfly eventually falls from the trees onto the water, as gentle as a breeze. The speaker observes her wings, which glimmer like precious stones, and with grace, touches them. In that touch, the speaker finds their place, as if the butterfly has brought them a sense of peace and belonging in the quiet of the night.
As the night draws to a close and the shelter of dreams fades, the touch of the butterfly's wings and the tranquility she brings linger in the speaker's soul. Her beauty unfolds in the speaker's heart forever, leaving an indelible impression.
The poem conveys a sense of wonder and awe towards the beauty of nature, as well as the emotional connection and impact that even fleeting moments with creatures like butterflies can have on our souls.
