I ve searched everywhere for a virtuous loveA
Tried everything but couldn t find itB
I thought such a love didn t really existC
And as I was about to call it a dayD
I looked across the stage and saw you thereE
A peri beaming and playing the harp canorouslyF
I came to you with my last breathG
Knelt at your feet and begged for your loveA
I saw compassion in your eyesH
I felt the willingness of your handsI
You bent down and coaxed me to get upJ
I didn t try to hide my tearsK
You hushed me softly as a mother hush her childL
-
My hope for a miracle came trueM
Though others have turned me down you said yesN
And you gave me confidenceO
You understood all the pain I ve enduredP
I didn t have to say muchQ
You softened your heart and took me inR
And I felt your divine love beginR
I needed a love that would not failF
Lonely years were all I knewM
You called me Come into my arms dearS
I held on to you desperatelyF
Your tender body warmed my heartT
My gratitude wasn t enough to reward youM
-
Your love meant more than life to meF
And a sincere love was all I could give youM
You concealed me from my fearsU
Did everything I asked you to do without reluctanceO
You loved me affectionatelyF
And I knew you were prepared to love me moreV
We loved as no two people have ever lovedW
It seemed as if nothing could go wrongX
Then one disastrous day my troubles cameY
I turned around and you weren t thereE
The heart whole love I knew mysteriously vanishedZ
Why did it end that way who can tellF
You were my true love for less time than I desiredA2
-
I m ashamed to say the love I found is gone foreverB2
The depth of my grief I can t describeC2
Thoughts of not having you badly disturb meF
In patches of silence my heart lamentsD2
What have I done not to deserve your loveA
I sought love and found it in vainE2
I had no reason to worry about you growing tired of meF
But now I yearn for even a moment with youM
My heart can t bear this agonyF
You sent me back to the prison of lonelinessF2
And I d rather die than live without youM
I ll never search for love againG2
For I know tonight I ll breathe my last breathG
