Sheep eat their shepherds
A shepherd monstrously murdered
And brutally burnt,
A great loss to Jalingo diocese.

Prior to his death
He was a priest like Melchizedek
He shepherds the flock
Under the scorching sun
And in the mocking rain.

Back from a peace talk
Route to Amadu parish
A calculated ambush launched
Against a soul,
Crying guns saluted his soul.

The news of his demise
Spread like a wildfire,
Many hearts pierced
and wounded.

Darkness over shadows
the diocese,
Skirts and trousers in tears
What has he done?

The Kwararafa Kingdom
and Jalingo diocese,
Weep for a departed soul
At mile six Jalingo Cathedral.

The cadaver committed
To the mother earth,
Grave yards frown at the casket.

The heavenly hosts have declared
War to the kingdom of the culprits
Though tagged 'unidentified gunmen.'

The doer and the dowee
Must chronicle their deeds
They that kill by a sword
Must die by a sword.
