When Shall We Meet Again? Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IJIKLMLN

How many times Spring blossoms meekA
Have faded on the landB
Since last I kissed that pretty cheekA
Caressed that happy handB
Eight time the green's been painted whiteC
With daisies in the grassD
Since I looked on thy eyes so brightC
And pressed my bonny lassD
-
The ground lark sung about the farmsE
The blackbird in the woodF
When fast locked in each other's armsE
By hedgerow thorn we stoodF
It was a pleasant Sabbath dayG
The sun shone bright and roundH
His light through dark oaks passed and layG
Like gold upon the groundH
-
How beautiful the blackbird sungI
And answered soft the thrushJ
And sweet the pearl like dew drops hungI
Upon the white thorn bushK
O happy day eight years agoL
We parted without painM
The blackbird sings primroses blowL
When shall we meet againN
