They say
We mustn't talk
Or it will be an offence
But I'll talk
I'll go me to the parapet
Shout with my megaphone
And talk loud for the world
To hear; Those who compare
The killings then and now
Are culpable as the perpetrators
Those who keep quiet
In the face of evil
Are themselves evil
For our silence benefits the wicked.

Poet's note: This concludes the theme in "Marauders" and condemns the silence of government officials to the killings or their explanation that herdsmen kill farmers because their cows are rustled. The poet says in the poem that in spite of government silencing the people that he will speak up against the activities of the Fulani herdsmen.
