Now with all the money in my pocket
I can bet and say he was one best poet.
Now in every objection and understanding
I can fully say he was outstanding.
He had his first time service as a fighter,
But later realized to the sword the pen was mightier,
And, as cleverly and possibly soon,
He saw his gift was to write books.
He wrote about his war experiences too,
And for those he had OVER TO YOU.
But, being much talented, then,
This one, I think, was good in writing for children:
He wrote of THE PIG and THREE LITTLE PIGS
Known with houses of bricks, straws and twigs.
And, as outstanding in history,
He wrote CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.
He explored lessons in animals known to be vile,
For example, Crocky-Wock, THE CROCODILE.
And then, with an inspiring vision,
He wrote how lives were destroyed by THE TELEVISION.
He taught a good lesson to the driver,
Yet with Michael Fish, THE HITCH-HIKER.
And he wrote how funny
Michael Fish made his money.
And how interesting in the woods
The Wolf was shot by MISS RED RIDING HOOD.
And he wrote of the need
For our children to read.
And how Farmer Bland, the butcher, the foe
Was ate by Piggy from head to toe.
And, all in a shock,
Not to leave out Crocky-Wock.
Now with pride I say in all;
My legend, is Roald Dahl.
