Wasted? Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABB CAADDA EEAAFFGHIIThink not of any one of them as wasted | A |
Or to the void like broken tools outcasted | A |
Unnoticed unregretted and unknown | B |
Not so is His care shown | B |
- | |
Know this | C |
In God's economy there is no waste | A |
As in His Work no slackening no haste | A |
But noiselessly without a sign | D |
The measure of His vast design | D |
Is all fulfilled exact as He hath willed | A |
- | |
And His good instruments He tends with care | E |
Lest aught their future usefulness impair | E |
As Master craftsman his choice tools doth tend | A |
Respecting each one as a trusty friend | A |
Cleans them and polishes and puts away | F |
For his good usage at some future day | F |
So He unto Himself has taken these | G |
Not to their loss but to their vast increase | H |
To us the loss the emptiness the pain | I |
But unto them all high eternal gain | I |
