Parable Of The Old Men And The Young Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDEFGHHIJKLH

So Abram rose and clave the wood and wentA
And took the fire with him and a knifeB
And as they sojourned both of them togetherC
Isaac the first born spake and said My FatherC
Behold the preparations fire and ironD
But where the lamb for this burnt offeringE
Then Abram bound the youth with belts and strapsF
And builded parapets and trenches thereG
And stretch ed forth the knife to slay his sonH
When lo an angel called him out of heavenH
Saying Lay not thy hand upon the ladI
Neither do anything to him BeholdJ
A ram caught in a thicket by its hornsK
Offer the Ram of Pride instead of himL
But the old man would not so but slew his sonH
