Rhyme Scheme: ABACD EFDGH IJIKK LBLMN OPOQK

Friday was a day you were moldedA
Arguments befell notB
As I preached about you they foldedA
Arms shocked in amazementC
Staring at me like circusD
-
Here I am in a lake of rosesE
On my knees holding your fingerF
Taking you to Canaan like MosesD
Rivers and lakes to crossG
Away from Pharaohs who broke your heartH
-
As the Moon engulfs the SunI
You are my endless lightJ
Couldn t ask for more funI
How I ve grown inchesK
With your tender and osculationsK
-
In battles we fight as a pairL
Relentlessly you hold back notB
To win and earn a chairL
Victory is the air we breatheM
A flag we protectN
-
Unwavering you standO
Through rocks and mud we ve beenP
You held my handO
Making me say figure yako kama ya chupaQ
Indeed you re the living hour glassK

Poet's note: Beauty of Poetry lies within comparing a character with living and non-living things. Living hour glass is a poem that is celebrating beauty of an African woman whose body is well structured like an hour glass, she is charming, irresistible and gorgeous!
