Friday was a day you were molded
Arguments befell not.
As I preached about you they folded
Arms shocked in amazement
Staring at me like circus.
Here I am in a lake of roses
On my knees holding your finger
Taking you to Canaan like Moses
Rivers and lakes to cross
Away from Pharaohs who broke your heart.
As the Moon engulfs the Sun
You are my endless light
Couldn’t ask for more fun
How I’ve grown inches
With your tender and osculations.
In battles we fight as a pair
Relentlessly you hold back not
To win and earn a chair
Victory is the air we breathe
A flag we protect.
Unwavering you stand
Through rocks and mud we’ve been
You held my hand
Making me say “figure yako kama ya chupa”
Indeed you’re the living hour glass.

Poet's note: Beauty of Poetry lies within comparing a character with living and non-living things. Living hour glass is a poem that is celebrating beauty of an African woman whose body is well structured like an hour glass, she is charming, irresistible and gorgeous!
