The Twilight Hour Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEEFF BBEE

Slowly I dawn on the sleepless eyeA
Like a dreaming thought of eternityB
But darkness hangs on my misty vestC
Like the shade of care on the sleeper's breastC
A light that is felt but dimly seenD
Like hope that hangs life and death betweenD
And the weary watcher will sighing sayE
Lord I thank thee 'twill soon be dayE
The lingering night of pain is pastF
Morning breaks in the east at lastF
-
Mortal thou mayst see in meB
A type of feeble infancyB
A dim uncertain struggling rayE
The promise of a future dayE
