We got up nice and earlyA
Right round am I thinkB
So we get our ritual onC
With that loaded up coffee to drinkB
-
Turns out the twin servos are a mustD
As we fuel up the car and of course usE
Then it's not till GoulburnC
That I'm hungry and soreF
A quick bite to eatG
Then the foot hits the floorF
-
Gundagai sucks me inC
And Shell needs to sitH
minutes in the shadeI
And seriously that's itH
-
Now fuels running lowJ
And Yass is coming upK
Glad I took the first exitH
Cause wow that's a huge line upK
-
Only km out of WaggaB
And the cars heating upK
It's time to bite the bulletL
It's a caravan park for us n the pupK
-
Booked in at CoolamonC
To catch up with big DaveM
Well who bloody knewC
It was gonna be a heatwaveM
-
Skinny grey old buggaB
With a nice little ranchN
We had a good ole yarnC
Till it was time for lunchO
-
An hour later n its time leaveM
Well maybe an hour n a half you'd believeM
Twas great catchin up and can't wait to do it againC
But back in Newy Not hot CoolamonC
-
So we hit the road on the way to VicB
This extreme heat well it's makin me sickB
First time ever I've seen the road meltP
Eyes are dry and sticky and that's not all I feltP
-
Kinda glad i said stuff Albury I'm hittin WodongaB
Cause as It turns out its only a few minutes longerQ
Im in Mexican territory now And most definitely waryA
Only cause these weak Victorians are a bunch of fairiesR
-
We then make tracks and head to Willows ReserveM
Wahgunyah's the town then it threw us a curveM
Well wouldn't you know it just across the riverQ
Ya back in N S W in a town called CorowaS
-
-
Im down by the Murray River with a block of cheese for baitT
Only something you do when your in another stateT
But all the locals keep telling me it's the go for Murray CodU
And after days of sitting fishing it stills seems quite oddU
-
New Years eve has just arrived and its time for a glass of portV
Sitting up having a few with Terry waiting for those noughtsR
Right then when it turns midnight and I venture back to the old vanC
To give my beloved Shell a kiss cause I'm stuffed if I'm kissing a manC
-
Now I mentioned Terry before he's been our neighbour for a few daysR
He even took us on his tinny explaining all the local waysR
Both him and his family were great with tips and advice to catch a CodU
It's bite time and I strike check out that bend in my rodU
-
The young fella storms over with a net to give me a hand to help me landW
Only to scoop to freakin early and left me staring at the sandW
I can only laugh it off as another lesson learntX
Cause didn't his family give him some all day he got burntX
-
I'm definitely not giving up but I'm determined to catch a fishY
It's become a little bit personal now a frustrated fisherman's wishY
The rains just smashed us hard and of course made everything wetZ
And I still can't get out my mind that young fella and his netZ
-
As our stay at Willows end and we search for our next stopA2
I'll be packing up the camp thinking of that Cod I near gotB2
So thanks for tuning in as I dribble all my crapC2
We've had a top time here I reckon I definitely be backB
