The Beast In The Mirror Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD BEFE BGBG HFHF IJIJ

In every glass in every paneA
A beast lurks deep insideB
It waits to pounce to break the chainA
And let its fury abideB
-
With eyes that gleam with teeth that bareC
The monster's gaze is fierce and wildD
It looks upon us with a stareC
That makes us feel like a helpless childD
-
We try to look away to hideB
From the creature that we seeE
But in the end we can't denyF
That it's a part of you and meE
-
For every human has a sideB
That's dark and full of rageG
It waits to take us for a rideB
To send us screaming off the stageG
-
But if we face the beast withinH
And stare it in the eyeF
We'll find the strength to fight and winH
And let our true selves flyF
-
So when you see that creature riseI
And feel the fear that's in your heartJ
Remember it's a part of you a guiseI
That you can conquer and departJ
