| It looks upon us with a stare | C |
| That makes us feel like a helpless child | D |

| We try to look away to hide | B |
| From the creature that we see | E |

| That it's a part of you and me | E |

| That's dark and full of rage | G |
| It waits to take us for a ride | B |
| To send us screaming off the stage | G |
