Why do I have the blues?
It’s because I still love her
I met her in high school
She was a clever player
I knew she didn’t love me,
But I played along with her games
Although she was using me,
I fell in love with her
Things didn’t go well for me
And I’ve had the blues since then
We were teenagers then
Now we’re grownups
I see her around once in a while
She still has a pretty face,
But I won’t try to seduce her
I don’t think it will work
She deceived me once,
And so she may do it again
Thinking about her depresses me
I can’t get rid of the blues
