A Third Chance Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAACD EFGFHIF JKKLMK NAOPMK

I take another lonely walk along the avenueA
On this sad evening no one s at my sideB
Anxiety fills my heart because I ve lost youA
I sit all by myself in the park on a bench for twoA
Pondering dispiritedly about the pastC
Trapped in the shadow of the fantasies we sharedD
-
The cannas near the fountain still bloomE
It feels like yesterday when we sat here togetherF
But years and distance have long separated usG
Now we re so far apart from each otherF
I can t concede that my one treasured love is goneH
God knows I try to hold back the tearsI
But I can t control the involuntary shudderF
-
My heart weakens as the moonless night approachesJ
I look to the stars for the answer to my quandaryK
But should the stars sympathize with meK
I ve lost you not just once but twiceL
If I wanted a second chance I d be in a better situationM
Perhaps you d consider my pleaK
-
But how can I ask you for a third chanceN
A third chance is more than I should expect from youA
So I prepare myself reluctantly to live without your loveO
What expectation do I haveP
I pray only that a miracle will soon happenM
While I wait for a love that I doubt will ever return to meK
