A Lair At Noon. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEEFGFG

The hawthorn gently stopt the sun beneathA
The ash above its quiv'ring shadows spreadB
And downy bents that to the air did wreatheA
Bow'd 'neath my pressure in an easy bedB
The water whirled round each stunted nookC
And sweet the splashings on the ear did swimD
Of fly bit cattle gulshing in the brookC
Nibbling the grasses on the fountain's brimD
The little minnows driv'n from their retreatE
Still sought the shelving bank to shun the heatE
I fain had slept but flies would buzz aroundF
I fain had looked calmly on the sceneG
But the sweet snug retreat my search had foundF
Waken'd the Muse to sing the woody screenG
