Strange Land, Nigeria Ii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDE FGHIJDKLMN OPQRNS TUQVW

I know if it were unarmed youthsA
They'd have sent their killer squadB
With bullets tanks and bombsC
Like invading maraudersD
They'd maim destroy and killE
-
They'd match outF
Like hungry and angry Alsatian dogsG
Aiming for the throat of their victimsH
But now a small group of menI
Armed with dane guns and local pistolsJ
Ambushed and took hostage police officersD
Suddenly the high command has gone dumbK
It has lost its propaganda voiceL
The entire nation's quietM
Like nothing happenedN
-
If it were in sane climesO
Leaders would have resignedP
Or committed suicideQ
Or both for they failed woefullyR
In the responsibility for which public fundN
Is wasted on themS
-
Here No wayT
In place of resignation they'd get promotionU
In place of suicideQ
They'd vent spleen on bloody civiliansV
Shame on them allW

Poet's note: On October 2020 soldiers attacked and killed unarmed youths who were protesting against police brutality and bad governance. The poem continues the ideas in the first poem by the same title. It condemns the use of lethal force on unarmed civilians while treating criminals and terrorists with kid gloves.
