A careless friend may kindle a strife.
A cruel friend may wreck a life.
A bitter friend may hate instill.
A brutal friend may smite and kill.
A gracious friend may smooth the way.
A joyous friend may light the day.
A timely friend may lessen stress.
A loving friend may heal and bless.
In true friendship,
We call it a tribe,
We call it a network,
A clan and a family,
Whatever we call it,
Whoever we call them,
We need emotionally hearted one.
If we want true friends,
We must become true friends we ourselves.

Poet's note: I wrote this poem to a girl who asked me to become her best and true friend. I wanted to express to her what a best and true friend do and doesn't do, and this was how I wrote it, but now this poem is dedicated to any one who has a friend, know what kind of friends you have.
