With creaking boards upon our headsA
Our stomachs and rats chased after the same breadB
The very brave black selfC
Was packed on deck like books on a shelfC
We couldn t breathe there was no air nor spaceD
No light so we hardly moved open spaceD
And inside the belly of a vesselE
We were their precious vesselE
being sailed awayF
Then to the highest bidder to be sold awayF
-
With our bodies bathed in saltG
The Black s dream comes to a haltG
Even in our anguish and dying painsH
We served to nourish your gainsH
We re the reason your system is considered the bestI
For you depended on our robustness to build your nestI
So why put out our courage before it spreadsA
Tying us up in rusty threadsA
Why has racism and stereotyping been our only honourJ
And our deaths stirring up your sense of humourJ
A rope at the neck has been our only way to freedomK
To a place to fantasize as a free kingdomK
A place of no lords nor slavesL
No Whites nor Blacks to be enslaved Blacks are human tooM
Bleeding red and never blackN
No more mental slavery I sayF
Why stick to everyday torturingO
As a way of ensuring our nurturingO
Taming another man as if an animalE
Amassing our talents and resources to minimalE
Hey you there stop bleaching your skinP
for being black is never a sinP
It may now seem we re far from luckQ
Yet know that blacks will never lackN
for black absorbs lightR
So surely it shines back so brightR
And our people will live rightR
-
Blacks are human tooM
Bleeding red and never blackN
No more mental slavery I sayF
Why stick to everyday torturingO
As a way of ensuring our nurturingO
Taming another man as if an animalE

-
Being black is never wrongS
for the black is strongS
A time is coming and it s hereJ
When black will never lack nor fearJ
And will be the hero of her storyJ
Like Jack and the beanstalkS
our beam will stall high to gloryJ
And bring luck to utilize our resourcesT
for the black do haveU
The black has what it takes to be greatV
Regardless of what history told us about our fateV
it s high time to unite and re write our fate in faithW
Because black is right and brightR
And can never be left behindX
Black is melaninY
And the black will certainly surviveZ
Those periods were bravery and never slaveryJ
