He swore eternal love on his honor,
As laid her down.
Looking into her eyes when he claimed her kiss.
He held her hand vowed never to let go,
As he laid her down.
The same well practiced speech,
He as he took another.
He knows it by heart,
Memorized each verse.
Delivers perfectly with the irresistible smirk.
He uses his looks well,
As he lays them down.
He knows the game, a true master player.
A few well chosen words,
Her defenses fall,
And he lays her down.
She wakes up tomorrow,
They all wake up the next morrow.
Where he laid them down.
Where he laid down , he is not.
They call after him,
She knocks on his door.
He tells her, tells them,
Suddenly he is occupied with urgency .
They will not see him,
She will hear nothing of him.
Till he knocks on her door,
A few weeks later.
He tells them they are the one,
Swears eternal love as he lays them down.
The Master Player.

Poet's note: This story is inspired by relationships built on foundation of lies. I was exploring how one can know the weakness' of their partner and exploit them to their advantage as well as how the victim always believes or is addicted to the lies.
