Rain rain go awayA
The children joyfully singB
Go and come another dayA
Their games would be ruinedC
-
There comes another dayA
The dark clouds form up in the skyD
The heavy winds battle the branchesE
Old John exits the shade of the oakF
-
Rain rain go awayA
The little ones gather on the yellowG
Go and come another dayA
Again their games would be ruinedC
-
O' let it rainH
The poor farmer criesI
Let it shower on the cropsJ
So we may have a good yieldK
-
O' let it rainH
Make the grass greenL
And let our gardens live againM
For the grounds thirstN
-
Should the rain go awayA
To allow the children playA
And come again another dayA
To make the gardens greenL
-
The children shall sing againM
But now I askO
When should the rain fallP
And when should the little ones so weary be heardQ
It's Up to Nature to decideR
