The Fathers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCD EFGHEE EIEJK ELHMNM OPQRSOT G

Some let their children flyA
Free as the birds in the skyA
Others spare the rodB
A few left them on their ownC
Still others are always in betweenD
-
They weave their different ways of authorityE
In accordance with the thoughtF
Where their love would be best servedG
Others complement the love of mothersH
Still others want absolute authorityE
Over the familyE
-
Some fathers unfortunatelyE
Renounce their rightsI
Give up as fathers voluntarilyE
Leaving their children to trailJ
The storms and darkness of lifeK
-
Oh how lucky and happyE
Those children who are shelteredL
In the arms of their loving fathersH
They could wrestle with life betterM
Knowing they have someoneN
To fall back on laterM
-
Yet we must always loveO
Our fathers no matter whatP
It is one of God's commandsQ
We are not here by chanceR
We were all madeS
From a capsule of loveO
At a given God's timeT
