Today marked the dayA
When they became oneB
In the eyes of God and menC
Bounded by a cordD
And a ring that has no endE
-
They promisedF
Their love and faithfulnessG
It has been writtenB
In the core of their heartsG
And imbibedH
In the recesses of their mindsG
-
Hand in handI
They passed the sunB
And God's morning starJ
Seven thousand six hundred seventy timesG
The shooting star that landedK
Before their very eyesG
They made a wish to live togetherL
ForeverL
-
For seven long yearsG
Their bond has been testedK
By the fires of adversityM
And the storms of lifeN
After which their loveO
Is likened to the strongest steelP
Strengthened and moldedK
In the most difficult timesG
-
But the mills of changeQ
Grind slowlyM
And the vessel of loveO
Has been brokenB
The vows that they swornR
For each other have been breachedS
And the rings that signifyT
Love and fidelity for each otherL
Are never wornR
-
Their hearts where their loveO
Have been writtenB
They keep a recordD
Of all their wrongs and treacheriesG
The faces that they love and adoreU
Each and every morningV
They tormentW
Their very soulsG
-
The day that they becameX
One fleshY
It has been thrownZ
Into the vesselA2
Of forgotten memoriesG
-
