What Spain Was Like Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EAFGHIJK LMNOP QRMST

Spain was a taut dry drum headA
Daily beating a dull thudB
Flatlands and eagle's nestC
Silence lashed by the stormD
-
How much to the point of weeping in my soulE
I love your hard soil your poor breadA
Your poor people how much in the deep placeF
Of my being there is still the lost flowerG
Of your wrinkled villages motionless in timeH
And your metallic meadowsI
Stretched out in the moonlight through the agesJ
Now devoured by a false godK
-
All your confinement your animal isolationL
While you are still consciousM
Surrounded by the abstract stones of silenceN
Your rough wine your smooth wineO
Your violent and dangerous vineyardsP
-
Solar stone pure among the regionsQ
Of the world Spain streakedR
With blood and metal blue and victoriousM
Proletarian Spain made of petals and bulletsS
Unique alive asleep resoundingT
