The pen left in hurryA
And the brain waved at noonB
At the hour the country homeC
Rig and kill for power and selfD
-
When ears awaitE
The talking drum of Pius To hit the nailF
Alas The hand is at half mastG
On the road to NairobiA
-
Tears drop from thousand tongueH
The heart bitteredG
All hail and wailF
All wish notG
-
But Pius is goneI
To the home of allJ
Rest well ProfD
You have played your partG
-
Now sit not on the fenceK
Like many onlooker brainL
But among eminentG
Where Achebe sitsM
