In this court room, where justice is sought with fervor,
And passion fills the air with every breath,
I stand alone, with memories I savor,
Of trials past, and verdicts fair and just.
Within the solemn court, where judges sit,
In wigs and gowns, deliberating long,
I hold the nation's constitution, lit
By memories of lawyers' battles strong.
This chamber, where the words of truth are weighed,
And justice is the highest prize to earn,
I have seen worries vanish, fears allayed,
And heard the cries of guilt and innocence churn.
Within these walls, encircled by the law,
I once beheld a JUSTICE pure and true,
Amidst a bench of judges, without flaw,
A shining light that cut through all the blue.
My heart rejoiced at this, my first glance,
And confidence surged through my every pore,
I longed for HIS continued just stance,
And cheered His name, in admiration more.
In this court room, where the truth prevails,
And falsehoods fail to gain a foothold still,
The wise counsels witness with relief the tales,
Of one staunch JUSTICE, fearless of all ill.
Yet there is now a decay within these walls,
A rot that permeates the benches once so bright,
For two JUSTICES have heeded the devil's calls,
And left behind a court that's lost its light.
In this court room, where justice once was served,
I stand in mourning the JUSTICES gone before,
And praise their legacy, still undeserved,
With memories that last for evermore.
