Now you know,
On the 25th and 27th of June,
The children, now you know,
Carrying a symbol of unity,
Were cruelly taken, their voices silenced,
The children of my nation,
Now you know, were senselessly torn from us,
By those meant to shield their dreams,
The truth is, now you know.

Now you know,
No official words to soothe our pain,
No condolences to heal our wounded hearts,
Not a moment of silence to honor their innocence,
Not even an apology, a balm for our grief,
Not even a flag at half-mast,
Because they dared to label us as treasonous,
How could we betray our own flag?
The children of my nation,
Who yearns for a brighter hereafter,
The truth is, now you know.

Now you know,
Who the true heroes and heroines are,
Leaderless and tribeless, but still occupied,
Now you know,
Whose memory deserves a monument,
Enshrined in the fabric of our nation,
Now you know,
We mean it when we speak, weight and purpose,
The children of my nation,
Yearn for a nation at its zenith,
The truth is, now you know.

Now you know,
That one-someday, in the not-so-distant future,
The children of my nation,
Will rise as just and compassionate leaders,
The truth is, now you know,
Now you know,
Now we know,
I hope, now you know.
