Two Lovesick People Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDE BFGBB HBBBIJ KABLM

I m standing alone in the moonlight tonightA
Loneliness fills my heart with despondencyB
And I m feeling the pain of downheartednessB
I m not the only lovesick person in the worldC
There must be a girl somewhere pining for loveD
I d like to get in touch with her somehowE
-
She doubts that she ll ever find true happinessB
That same thought weighs heavily on my mindF
She wants someone to adore her foreverG
And I want someone to love and never loseB
I wish the stars could show me where that girl isB
-
She cries softly because she has no companionH
Dejection makes tears run down my cheeksB
I m burning with eagerness to kiss tender lipsB
And she desires the sweetness of a caressB
Every day she wishes for a good husbandI
And I m so anxious to marry a fascinating girlJ
-
Why should two lovesick people be so far apartK
If we were in each other s arms tonightA
Our hearts wouldn t feel so sad and lonelyB
I hope she s not afraid to send out her love callL
For I m extending my love to her at this timeM
