Public Speaking Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEF GHI JDK LIM NCO FFM PCL

Listen I'm not a performer or an oratorA
I've explained this to you many timesB
But you behave as if you lack understandingC
-
Everybody has different ways and abilitiesD
It's unreasonable to expect everybody to be the sameE
Some people are speakers others aren'tF
-
I'm an author not a conversationalistG
I honestly don't want to be in the spotlightH
And I don't like many eyes staring at me at onceI
-
You make me feel guilty and uncomfortableJ
Don't give me any assignments or responsibilitiesD
For I'm not a dependable person as I once wasK
-
Unfortunately I can't read or recite dramaticallyL
I'm always tense when I stand before an audienceI
Even if I'm addressing people whom I know wellM
-
The performers alone can t make the show a successN
But you only praise the ones you see performingC
You don't appreciate the work I do behind the scenesO
-
I can't speak fluently due to a speech impedimentF
So I have to avoid ridicule and embarrassmentF
Public speaking is for people who can speak wellM
-
I don t like to engage in oral discussionsP
When I have an opinion of someone or somethingC
My writing figuratively does the talking for meL
