Playmates Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDCEFGG GCHIJKCL MLCLNNGL GNOPLLGQ

Inspired by F onaA
-
I vaguely remember F ona s appearanceB
But I can t forget the experience I had with herC
We were playmates when we were kidsD
She was the youngest sister of my stepmotherC
Both of us were born on a Wednesday morningE
And we have the same date of birthF
No other girl had expressed her love for meG
F ona was the first girl who touched meG
-
She was more experienced with sensuality than meG
I was a timid boy who wasn t compatible with herC
She knew so much about boys and romanceH
For someone who was attending a single sex schoolI
I didn t know anything about girls and loveJ
It took three years for my step aunt to give me a turn onK
But it was too late to start an affair with herC
Although she still loved me things didn t work outL
-
The last time I saw her we were teenagersM
She was the prettiest girl my eyes had beheldL
I didn t get the chance to say more than hello to herC
She migrated to Canada and left me behindL
I never laid eyes on F ona since thenN
And I never heard her sweet voice againN
Time has erased her face from my memoryG
But the longing for her still remains in my heartL
-
It s been many years since I ve bourn the miseryG
I wonder if she s as beautiful as she was thenN
I don t even know if she s still aliveO
Frankly I m not sure I d love her if I see her nowP
But I m in love with the girl from the pastL
How I miss those days with my sweet playmateL
I distinctly remember the way F ona loved meG
And I blame her mom for destroying our happinessQ
