Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFG HBIBGJBKG LBBGFGG GHHLDM

It was the best decision I d ever madeA
The stroll through Emancipation Park made my dayB
You were sitting quietly on a benchC
So lonely and downheartedB
I could have passed you by without stoppingD
But I came to you and said You look nice dearE
You blushed and replied Thank youF
It was then I knew I d found my treasureG
-
I asked you Do you mind companyH
You said No be my guestB
I sat with you for a whileI
We talked and laughedB
We took photographs of each otherG
And we rolled in the grassJ
The speed of two heartbeats increasedB
Your lips came closer to mineK
And I wanted to kiss you foreverG
-
The evening was getting darkL
It was time for us to partB
The thought of leaving without you pained my heartB
You gave me your phone numberG
And I promised to call youF
We dated through the summerG
And the love between us grew warmerG
-
Now darling look at our little daughterG
Isn t she as sweet as a child can beH
The years passed so swiftlyH
Do you recall the evening we met in the parkL
Can you feel the soft wind blowingD
Two turtledoves descended when we fell in loveM
