The ones who say they are in favour of free speech should show it.
A truthful person would not display dishonesty and hypocrisy.
We should never take freedom of expression and freedom of opinion lightly.
Even if we disagree with an opinion, we should allow the airing of it.
You can easily identify cowards, hypocrites, and dishonest people.
Such ones conveniently support what they regard as free speech.
Immoral political leaders and lawmakers want to control everything we do.
Nobody should have to campaign for legal rights to speak freely.
Opposers of truth can say they hate the truth that I speak,
But they cannot rightly say the truth that I speak is falsehood.
Educators and edifiers have a weighty responsibility to publicize truth,
But lovers of lies try to suppress truth in whatever way they can.
In truth, people will not always say things that we want to hear,
And neither will we always say what others want to hear.
If we were to allow only agreeable speech, how would that work?
It certainly would not be real freedom of expression and opinion.
We will not attain real freedom of speech and opinion by pretence.
Free speech is not just legislation; we must willingly tolerate free speech.
