| And I found a fledgling in the garden | B |
| It was a wild but friendly little bird | C |
| Surprisingly I caught it so easily | D |
| And I named the fledgling Chirpy | D |
| I didn t know what kind of bird it was | E |
| Chirpy was just learning how to fly | F |

| I walked around with Chirpy for a while | G |
| The fledgling wasn t afraid of me | D |
| I tried to put Chirpy back in the garden | B |
| But the birdie didn t want to go away | H |
| It kept clinging to my right hand | I |
| The next morning Chirpy was on the veranda | J |
| And at the end of the day it flew away | H |
