Ping Ling, what made you love me the way you did?
You didn’t hesitate to say yes the evening I proposed to you.
And you quickly put the engagement ring on your finger.
You knew that I loved you as much as you loved me.
We vowed to stay with each other until death separated us.
Never did we think our marriage would end in divorce.
Though many years have passed, I won’t stop missing you.
I’ll still love you, no matter how long we stay apart.
Every time I look at our wedding picture, my heart aches for you.
When we became one flesh, it was a memorable event.
I’ll never forget the beautiful bride who was standing by my side.
At that moment, we felt that our dreams had come true.
I never thought I’d have to ask you to marry me again.
My darling, Ping Ling, will you remarry me?
I hope you’ll say yes enthusiastically as you did the first time.
