A Lonesome Dreamer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGE HIJKLMFN AOPFFFEQ

Daisy and I were optimistic dreamersA
We fell for each other when we were youngB
Love blazed like a fire in our heartsC
Roses bloomed and birds sang on our wedding dayD
We promised to grow old togetherE
But she broke her promise to meF
Sadly she left me in the prime of lifeG
Since then I ve been a lonesome dreamerE
-
Decades have gone by since we partedH
It s a shame we wasted a lifetimeI
Now Daisy and I are old and feebleJ
Our heads are full of grey hairK
Despite ill health and wrinkles on our skinsL
My love for her is still strongM
My hopeful heart still aches for DaisyF
How I miss the woman whom I married in my youthN
-
Every day I look at our wedding picturesA
I can still recall the bliss and the fantasies of long agoO
Daisy is no longer young and attractiveP
Her smile can t be as sweet as it used to beF
But the beauty of the heart is all that matters to meF
I didn t get the chance to grow old with DaisyF
All I can do now is hope to reunite with herE
So that I can fulfil my last dream and die in her armsQ
