Daisy and I were optimistic dreamers.
We fell for each other when we were young.
Love blazed like a fire in our hearts.
Roses bloomed and birds sang on our wedding day.
We promised to grow old together,
But she broke her promise to me.
Sadly, she left me in the prime of life.
Since then I’ve been a lonesome dreamer.

Decades have gone by since we parted.
It’s a shame we wasted a lifetime.
Now, Daisy and I are old and feeble.
Our heads are full of grey hair.
Despite ill health and wrinkles on our skins,
My love for her is still strong.
My hopeful heart still aches for Daisy.
How I miss the woman who I married in my youth.

Every day I look at our wedding pictures.
I can still recall the bliss and the fantasies of long ago.
Daisy is no longer young and attractive.
Her smile can’t be as sweet as it used to be,
But the beauty of the heart is all that matters to me.
I didn’t get the chance to grow old with Daisy.
All I can do now is hope to reunite with her
So that I can fulfil my last dream and die in her arms.
