The heart is heavily ladenA
Like a pregnant rockB
Waiting to vent cold fireC
Without chewing wordsD
-
Though stuck by the fracases of fateE
Why pay heed to the lips of our foesF
Who vowed to keep usG
Closely apartH
-
The blood ties has untiedI
Our real enemiesJ
The genotype and phenotypeK
Have kept us on a crossed roadL
-
If wishes were horsesM
I will deafen the warnings of scienceN
And walk you down the aisleO
And reap the fruits of my fateE

Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke

Poet's note: This poem is dedicated to all humanity. It explores the themes of love, heart break, and Genotype incompatibility. It shows an extent to which a man or woman won't give up for her/his love. Love conquers all. But when it's comes genotype, man must pay heeds to the warning of science.
