Behind The Scene Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IJKL HMNHJ

The world is a stageA
Where scripts are scripted to scenesB
Casts rehearse and cram their linesC
Some distorting the manuscriptsD
-
The prompters patiently waitingE
For a penitent heartF
To refit and redirect a courseG
Pride a shield to their soulsH

Drunk by the mundane of popularityI
Relegating the Scripter behind the sceneJ
Building castles in the airK
Footing fruitless billsL

On a bustling and hustling rolesH
Some casts sink in suffocationM
And take the exit routeN
Waiting to receive their retributionsH
Behind the sceneJ

Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke

Poet's note: This poem is dedicated to all humanity. It explores the vanity of life. Indeed life is like a stage where actors come, perform their roles and take the exit route. We must all give accounts of our stewardship to the Scripter when we are called to glory. God is behind the scenes watching. The prompters are always waiting to redirect our course of action and bring us closer to God. But when we fail to pervert from our unrighteous ways, then we bear the blunts and bunt of our fate.
