Rhyme Scheme: ABABACAD EFEFGHGH IJI KCLC

I opened the casement this morn at starlightA
And the moment I got out of bedB
The daisies were quaking about in their whiteA
And the cowslip was nodding its headB
The grass was all shivers the stars were all brightA
And Robin that should come at e'enC
I thought that I saw him a ghost by moonlightA
Like a stalking horse stand on the greenD
-
I went bed agen and did nothing but dreamE
Of Robin and moonlight and flowersF
He stood like a shadow transfixed by a streamE
And I couldn't forget him for hoursF
I'd just dropt asleep when I dreamed Robin spokeG
And the casement it gave such a shakeH
As if every pane in the window was brokeG
Such a patter the gravel did makeH
-
So I up in the morning before the cock crewI
And to strike me a light I sat downJ
I saw from the door all his track in the dewI
And I guess called 'Come in and sit down '-
And one sure enough tramples up to the doorK
And who but young Robin his senC
And ere the old folks were half willing to stirL
We met kissed and parted agenC
