The Barley Fields Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

The sunset has faded there's but a tingeA
Saffron pale where a star of whiteB
Has tangled itself in the trailing fringeA
Of the pearl gray robe of the summer nightB
-
O the green of the barley fields grows deepC
The breath of the barley fields grows rareD
There is rustle and glimmer sway and sweepC
The wind is holding high revel thereD
-
Singing the song it has often sungE
Hark to the troubadour glad and boldF
Sweet is the earth when the summer is youngE
And the barley fields are green and goldF
