I took a walkA
Among the tombstonesB
As usualC
My route to the marketD
-
But today was no mere dayE
Fore the spirits had seemed to be liveF
But in shock I paid attentionG
To their laughterH
Chats giggles and mocksI
-
But some were crying out loudJ
Yet I heard them allK
Like sibilant whispersL
Crying for their squandered livesM
Wishing they had not usedN
Their wisdom lavishlyO
Without worthP
-
Claiming to have hadQ
Their whole lives figured outR
Except that death would come to thwartS
-
In confusion I stood attentivelyO
Fore their whispersL
Were their like tentacles in my earsT
As they weptU
For their shattered dreamsV
Broken vowsW
Promises unkeptU
With all the fortunesX
Never got it be spentU
-
I stumbled upon young soulsY
With battles unfinishedU
Goals unsettledU
Hopes scatteredU
With mysteries of their ownZ
Deaths unresolved to the livingA2
-
I paused motionlessB2
Alert with passionG
To the murmursL
Of souls with tarnished legaciesC2
Cursing on their bragging foesD2
Gloating with prideU
-
And I stood there motionlessB2
With caution listeningA2
To the narration of young livesM
Fore they died youngE2
With their sanctity so pureF2
Yet never got to live up toU
The great expectationsX
Of their like bed onesX
-
Fore death brought aG2
Consternation without deviationG
Of their diminished soulsY
And with their presence supplantU
By memoriesC2
-
Thus upon these groundsH2
They lie like detritus unnoticedU
With their second chancesI2
Vitiated by the consequencesI2
Of their sinsJ2
