The Several Friends I Had Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCD EFGHI JKLMN OPQRSTU

I had several friendsA
But I never saw one at nightB
That cold nightB
When it rained fire and stonesC
When the room grew wide and darkD
-
I had the courageE
To approach the cold vistF
But I had no company to help fire my little pistolG
I found it hard to sleep the cold roomH
And much of it I watched the painful filmI
-
I had to fearJ
That group of gangsK
For what the didL
So harmed they wereM
The slapped my old mumN
-
I had to call my soulO
From far had goneP
I cried like a common ladyQ
To awake the watchful dogR
It ran and barkedS
The gang had to leaveT
But now a scar is ailing at the center of my heartU
