There was a countryA
I used to knowB
Full of sweet bountyA
To basic amenities government dare not say NoB
I wept in agony as our country is no more the land of plentyA
-
I cried in my roomC
I searched through the stormD
I pensively call on you allE
To ask Oh Giant of Africa where is our normD
-
There was a cultureF
I used to knowB
Where males and females grow by nurtureF
To know and perform their roles without grudges or saying NoB
I wept in agony as our culture is derailed by civilization and natureF
-
I cried in my roomC
I searched through the stormD
I pensively call on you allE
To ask Oh Giant of Africa where is our normD
-
There was a governmentG
I used to knowB
That gives the masses pipe borne water sound education power and enlightenmentG
To masses core needs government dare not say NoB
I wept in agony as youths and less privileged are turned to living corpse lacking empowermentG
-
I cried in my roomC
I searched through the stormD
I pensively call on you allE
To ask Oh Giant of Africa where is our normD
-
There was a LoveH
I used to knowB
Where Boko haram never existed to affect our life of a doveH
A love where Abubakar married Titi and Obasanjo wedded Stella without both parents saying NoB
I wept in agony as Love is now shattered to be wicked tough and roughI
-
I cried in my roomC
I searched through the stormD
I pensively call on you allE
To ask Oh Giant of Africa where is our normD
-
There was a familyA
I used to knowB
Where every young girl can cook deliciouslyA
Raising a godly home where to a blissful marriage no one dare say NoB
I wept in agony handling so many divorce cases with today's family no longer living happilyA
-
I cried in my roomC
I searched through the stormD
I pensively call on you allE
To ask Oh Giant of Africa where is our normD
-
I am neither a man nor a wifeJ
Living in my country's ordained lifeJ
-
The country is so corruptly rottenK
Leaving the mind of the masses so dirtyA
-
I am neither a man nor a wifeJ
Living in my country's ordained lifeJ
