A Dream Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDDCDC| That was a curious dream I thought the three | A |
| Great planets that are drawing near the sun | B |
| With such unerring certainty begun | B |
| To talk together in a mighty glee | A |
| They spoke of vast convulsions which would be | A |
| Throughout the solar system the rare fun | B |
| Of watching haughty stars drop one by one | B |
| And vanish in a seething vapour sea | A |
| - | |
| I thought I heard them comment on the earth | C |
| That small dark object doomed beyond a doubt | D |
| They wondered if live creatures moved about | D |
| Its tiny surface deeming it of worth | C |
| And then they laughed 'twas such a singing shout | D |
| That I awoke and joined too in their mirth | C |
