Hear the cry of your people | B |
For your departure has turned them feeble | B |
Ignorantly orchestrating your death | C |
They ve brought pain to their women | D |
And severe hunger on their children | D |
They ve caused several mayhem | E |
And continue to live opposite their anthem | F |
- | |
Oh Mama Africa | A |
You were the most beautiful continent among your peers | G |
Gifted with every natural and human resource | H |
Yet with attitude so worse and magnitude | I |
They ve created jobless teaming youths | J |
Financial crisis and economic hardship | K |
So brain drain has been your children s comfort rain | L |
- | |
Oh Mama Africa | A |
Your elected officials ships your glory | M |
They loot and sail your resources off your shores | N |
Leaving the motherlands dry | O |
And the fatherlands deprived | P |
Than a drunk driver your people also show reckless behaviours | N |
Living oblivious to rules and regulations | N |
- | |
Oh Mama Africa | A |
They destroy your lands in their selfish pursuits | N |
And blame slavery for raking your fate | Q |
They then receive aids in suits and chill in expensive cars and suites | N |
And turn ballot papers into bullets | N |
Pouring your blood in the pits of politics | N |
And tag it a dirty game | R |
Yet others play it free and fair | S |
- | |
Oh Mama Africa | A |
This shouldn t have been your fate | Q |
Yet religion and politics has traded your worth | T |
So all that your children seek for is quick wealth | U |
Who is to restore your glorious mandate | Q |
And awaken their mindsets before it s too late | Q |
Oh African s where s your honour | S |
- | |
Oh Mama Africa | A |
I sit in the ashes of words | N |
Wearing black on my melanin skin | V |
Shedding tears of blood | W |
For a great tree has fallen | D |
The river that quenched the thirst | X |
of natives and foreigners has dried | Y |
Africa the mother to the genesis of creation | D |
has lost her reputation | D |
And her children their identity | M |
Now entombed in prerogatory and stigma | A |
You ve gone too soon Arise Mama Africa | A |
