Good Friday Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEED FGGGHIIJID FFKLEEMEDADFDEED

Onward we go to GolgothaA
The place of skulls and bones Yo Isaiah don t forget to bring along some stones to stone the MessiahB
For onward He marches on carrying a heavy crossC
To us it was just a cross but in reality it was the burden of humanity he was made to bear for all eternityD
It was a day of scorningE
It was a day of mourningE
But a good FridayD
-
Hosanna hosannaF
blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord they sailedG
but after he was gracefully hailedG
He was painfully nailedG
Jesus Christ went through dire phasesH
He was made to dine in disgraceI
For humanity to obtain God s graceI
He went through pain and shameJ
Just to save the human raceI
On that faithful FridayD
-
Crucify Him Crucify Him they chant in chorus like a Pentecostal hymnF
A man who knew no sinF
was made to bear our sinsK
In order to redeem us to the king of kingsL
He was betrayed for lovingE
He was beaten for healingE
He was scorned for dining with sinnersM
He was denied for caringE
He was spat upon for speaking blasphemyD
He was rebuked for speaking the truthA
He was mocked for majestically admitting His majestic majestyD
He was murdered for no reason than to pay for our treason and rescue our souls from eternal prison so that you and I can enjoy heavenF
He was crucified on a tree just to set us freeD
It was a day of scorningE
It was a day of mourningE
But it was indeed a good FridayD
