Onward we go to Golgotha
The place of skulls and bones, Yo Isaiah don’t forget to bring along some stones to stone the Messiah
For onward He marches on carrying a heavy cross.
To us it was just a cross but in reality it was the burden of humanity he was made to bear for all eternity
It was a day of scorning
It was a day of mourning
But a good Friday.

Hosanna hosanna
blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord they sailed
but after he was gracefully hailed
He was painfully nailed
Jesus Christ went through dire phases
He was made to dine in disgrace
For humanity to obtain God’s grace.
He went through pain and shame
Just to save the human race
On that faithful Friday.

Crucify Him, Crucify Him, they chant in chorus like a Pentecostal hymn
A man who knew no sin
was made to bear our sins
In order to redeem us to the king of kings.
He was betrayed _ for loving
He was beaten _ for healing
He was scorned _ for dining with sinners
He was denied _ for caring
He was spat upon_ for speaking blasphemy
He was rebuked _ for speaking the truth
He was mocked _ for majestically admitting His majestic majesty
He was murdered _ for no reason than to pay for our treason and rescue our souls from eternal prison so that you and I can enjoy heaven.
He was crucified on a tree just to set us free.
It was a day of scorning
It was a day of mourning
But it was indeed a good Friday.
